Why Alkaline?
“Our bodies are naturally designed to function at their optimum when at a PH level of 7.365. This means functioning in an alkaline state.”
When we think of a typical meal, it is filled with meat, processed foods, salts, and tons of sugar. Come on now, we cant treat our bodies like that. This is why it is important to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle, and replenishing our bodies with all the right minerals and fluids.
Fruits and vegetables are alkalizing to our bodies, but as we know, sometimes we miss a day or two of our daily required servings. Drinking Alkaline water is as equally important to keeping our bodies hydrated throughout the day.
Alkaline offers long-lasting pH of 9.5+, which delivers pure ionic minerals and dissolved oxygen to our cells, which is exactly what our bodies need to function properly!
Alkaline Water is 100% safe to drink!
Alkaline water has no calories, sweeteners, or preservatives. It is 100% safe of all harmful ingredients. It is consisted of all natural ionic minerals that are infused to have the one of the highest and most stable pH levels. That beats any filtered or bottled water on the market!
What makes Alkaline so special?
Most filtered or bottled waters pH levels are neutral, whereas Alkaline fresh has a steady 9-10 pH!
- Refreshing Taste
- Absolute Purity
- Keeps the Body Hydrated
- Stable pH Level
- Ionic / Active Minerals Infused
Natural or Artificial?
Water that is naturally alkaline occurs when water passes over rocks – like springs – and picks up minerals, which increase its alkaline level. There are companies that sell products, like ionizers, that claim to make water alkaline through a chemical process called electrolysis. Makers of ionizers say electricity is used to separate molecules in the water that are more acidic or more alkaline. Although some doctors and researchers say these claims are not backed quality research.
Does Alkaline Water taste good?
Alkaline Water offers a fresh taste which has been pristinely purified. All the minerals that are added back, now give you a smooth, clean, hydrating taste that regular water sadly can not offer!
Interesting facts about pH, acid, alkaline, and the importance of healthy minerals in your diet.
- The term pH was first introduced by Danish chemist Soren Peder Lauritz Sorensen in 1909.
- One 12oz can of cola contains enough phosphoric acid to dramatically change our pH. If you don’t have enough calcium or magnesium reserves in your extracellular fluid, your body takes the calcium from your bones to neutralize the acid. You’d need 32 glasses of water to neutralize every can of soda you drink. That’s a lot of water!
- Chronically acidic blood (acidosis) can cause a variety of conditions, including fatigue, foggy thinking, weight gain and heart burn.
- A food is classified as acid or alkaline depending on its mineral content. Alkaline foods contain more alkaline-forming minerals, like calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, and potassium, than acid-forming minerals such as phosphorus, copper, and sulphur.
- An adequate intake of daily dietary calcium is required to control the heart rate, blood clotting, muscle contraction, and much more. It’s not just about building strong bones.
- Calcium deficiency causes your body to take what it needs from your bones, and if this pattern continues, it can weaken your bones and even lead to osteoporosis.
- Adequate calcium intake can help regulate your body’s pH balance, reduce symptoms of PMS and even assist with weight loss.
- Drinking milk may not help fight off osteoporosis. Because dairy is acidic, your body pulls calcium from your bones to help neutralize it. Studies show countries with the highest intake of dairy products (including North America) have the highest incidence of osteoporosis, whereas countries that consume fewer dairy products have lower rates.
- People can live for a few months without food, but only 10 days without water. Next to the air we breathe, water is the most important element in our body, yet 75% of people are chronically dehydrated and don’t even know it.
- The average person consumes 150lbs of refined (acidic) sugar per year, which is 30x more than our grandparents consumed at the turn of the 20th century. It’s no wonder obesity rates are on the rise, especially when sugar is hidden in many foods you’d never suspect.
Why are alkaline diets important? An Alkaline diet is key for optimizing vitality because alkaline diets keep our tissues supple and reduces inflammation, which is a culprit in several disease processes like arthritis, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel disorders, and even cancer. Alkalizing your body also builds and strengthens bone, thereby reducing the incidence of osteoporosis.
How you know if you are alkaline? pH refers to a measurement of acidity or alkalinity. It is easily measured using a pH dip stick purchased at your local pharmacy, and with your first morning urine you can find out what your level of alkaline-acid is. Low pH readings (below 7.0) are considered acidic, while higher readings (above 7.0) are considered alkaline.
Your body functions best when the pH is slightly alkaline. However many bodily processes, for example, digestion, will produce acid residues. Your pH level is always in flux: acids are constantly being produced and neutralized. These acids are produced and require neutralization- also known as alkalization. Diet and supplements are the main way to reduce the acid load.
What are some examples of alkaline food? Most alkaline foods are vegetables and fruits. Leafy greens are especially alkaline forming in the body.
Some alkaline forming foods include:
- Root vegetables: examples include radishes especially (black, red or white), as well as beets, carrots, turnips, horseradish and rutabaga
- Cruciferous such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and Brussel- sprouts
- Leafy greens including kale, Swiss chard, turnip greens, and spinach.
- Cucumber
- Garlic
- Lemon
- Apples
- Millet
Some acid forming foods:
- Animal proteins: Bacon, Beef, Pork,
- Dairy
- Corn
- Soda
- Refined sugar
10 ways to alkalize your diet:
1. Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day
2. Squeeze a fresh lemon or lime into your water
3. Add apple cider vinegar to salad dressings
4. Add green tea to your diet (switch from coffee to green tea once or twice per week)
5. Twice per week, replace an animal protein meal with vegetables and limit animal protein (maximum 60 mg per day.)
6. Reduce sugar intake and soda drinks
7. Reduce refined carbohydrates
8. Supplement with buffered Vitamin C 1000mg
9. Incorporate sea vegetables into diet
10. Monitor urinary pH (and add supplements and diet to alkalinize.)
As part of a detoxification plan, or reducing inflammation, it is helpful to monitor alkaline-acid and eat foods that support alkalinity . Some of the benefits of the alkaline foods include increased energy, mental clarity, reduced joint stiffness and muscle pain.
